Director
Mariam Yusuf is a dedicated activist, campaigner, and advocate, focusing her efforts on issues impacting people seeking asylum.
Her tireless work is concentrated on two key areas: campaigning for a more humane immigration policy system and raising public awareness of the profound challenges faced by asylum seekers.
Mariam generously volunteers her time with several organisations, consistently advocating for meaningful change within the immigration system. She is particularly committed to empowering women, recognising the unique and significant obstacles they often encounter.
Her remarkable resilience and unwavering dedication were formally recognised in 2016 when she was honoured with the Woman of the Year Award by the Women on The Move Awards.
A mother of two young adult children, Mariam continues her vital work, striving to create a more just and equitable world for all, with a special focus on advancing the rights and well-being of women.
